discovering and encouraging new young talent in the different sectors
of classical music.
Maestro Gianni Bergamo wished to start this prize hoping that it will
become a reference point and a solid support for talented young
musicians from all over the world.
The competition is open cyclically to the following fields:
composition, instrument/voice and chamber music. The winners of the
competition for composition – whose winning pieces will be performed by
the ensemble recherche – will be given the task of composing the
compulsory pieces for the next instrumental and chamber music
competitions.
For 2010, the GIANNI BERGAMO CLASSIC MUSIC AWARD
announces a competition for composition.
Candidates are asked to compose
a piece for symphony orchestra intended for a young audience (children and young people aged 6-12 years) including a maximum of 2 non-musical interpreters (for example: actor, voice, mime, magician, clown).
The winning piece will be performed by the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana.
prize money: Euro 25’000.-
